Who We Are:
Shawn Smith, J.D.

Shawn has 20 years' experience as a senior corporate executive, attorney and consultant, helping public, private and non-profit organizations develop the infrastructure and systems necessary to support continuous growth and change. She has worked with companies across a variety of industries, as well as organizations undergoing a broad range of significant changes-- including start-ups, high growth, downsizing, new management teams and re-engineering. With her unique background combining extensive experience in executive management, human resources development and legal practice, she has focused on designing practical and creative multi-disciplinary solutions that reflect the organization's business strategy, while minimizing the potential for legal exposure.

Shawn is a former Vice President of Del Laboratories, Inc., an international consumer products company, where she was General Counsel and head of the human resources department. She is also former General Counsel to Data Switch Corporation, a high technology company. She began her career as a corporate associate at Robinson & Cole, a major regional New England law firm.

Shawn writes a column on workplace issues for the Westchester County Business Journal and Fairfield County Business Journal, has appeared on cable television business programming, and has published numerous articles on organizational development and legal issues in national and international publications. She also contributed a regular "Ask the Expert" column for the National Leadership Institute, which won a 2002 Apex Grand Award for Publication Excellence in the area of business writing. She is a founding member of the Westchester Management and Training Alliance and a member of the Board of Directors of CHOICE of New Rochelle, Inc.

Shawn received a B.A. from Amherst College, and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
