Organizational Development and HR

Our client, a growing high-technology company, asked us, “How can we make our Human Resources department more effective?
We responded by involving both the HR department and company management and staff, and conducted a comprehensive assessment of the department, focusing on its current talents, capabilities and practices as related to the company’s business priorities. We helped to realign the responsibilities of the HR department, as well as mentor and coach its members to improve their professional skill-sets. Our recommendations resulted in a more efficient, service-oriented department that was better able to support the company’s employees as well as further the organization’s aggressive recruitment plans.

Our client, an emerging technology firm, asked us, “Are we doing the most we can to identify and recruit the best employees in today’s competitive marketplace?”
We responded by working with management to design and implement a program that allowed the company to identify strong prospective sources of applicants, to identify and correct factors that worked to decrease the organization’s attractiveness to potential employees, and to highlight the company’s unique “selling points.” In addition, we educated managers as to how to select employees that best meet both the requirements of the position and the company’s culture, thus increasing the likelihood that the company will retain the people it hires.

Legal and Contracting Infrastructure

Our client, a start-up energy company, said to us, “We need to find a way to get our contracting systems under control, so that we know who is signing what, and what our obligations are.”
We responded by developing and implementing a company-wide contracting system that clearly designated a standard contract review, negotiation and approval process, as well as signatory authority levels. We created form contracts for the company’s most common transactions, protecting the company’s legal interests and ensuring consistency across transactions. Although we relied on our legal expertise in creating the system, the program was specifically designed to enable the company to implement it going forward without the continued involvement of attorneys.

Our client, a growing beauty products company, asked us, “Are we getting off on the right footing with our HR practices?”
We responded by conducting a thorough audit of the organization’s HR practices, identifying areas of potential exposure and providing the company with a targeted, prioritized action plan to address these areas.
